Model CA – Compensating Cables

Overview
Compensating cables are essential components used in thermocouple-based Temperature measurement systems. Their primary role is to connect the thermocouple sensor to the measuring instrument while maintaining the accuracy of the thermoelectric signal. Unlike ordinary extension cables, compensating cables are made of specific alloy combinations that mimic the thermoelectric properties of the thermocouple, reducing measurement errors caused by signal degradation over long distances.

Working Principle
When a thermocouple generates a voltage corresponding to the Temperature difference between its junctions, the signal needs to be transmitted to a Temperature Controller, recorder, or display. Compensating cables ensure this transmission is done with minimal deviation or distortion. These cables are composed of conductors made from materials similar to or compatible with the thermocouple type (e.g., K, J, T, etc.), ensuring consistent signal transfer and maintaining calibration integrity throughout the transmission path.
